Artemis grew from more than 20 years of research in computational chemistry, molecular modelling, and AI-enabled drug discovery led by Dr. Artem Cherkasov and collaborators at the University of British Columbia.

That work produced increasingly powerful approaches to exploring chemical space at extraordinary scale, including Deep Docking™, which made it possible to screen billions of compounds rapidly and identify promising candidates for further investigation.

The technology has already contributed to the discovery of six drug candidates licensed to pharmaceutical companies and was used during the COVID-19 pandemic to screen 40 billion compounds in just 19 days.

Artemis was created to take that foundation further.

By bringing the technology into an asset-driven biotechnology company, Artemis can apply its discovery capabilities to internally developed therapeutic programs, connecting computational prediction with biological validation and advancing promising discoveries toward the clinic.
